Overview of RBLA healthcare experience including hospital and assisted living design.
National Development recently updated their property at 20 Cabot Rd in Medford, MA. We worked with their landscape team to replace existing concrete walkways with unit pavers and replace light bollards and site furniture with more modern fixtures. We’re looking forward to seeing everything set up in spring 2020!
Working again with the Town of Stoughton and Ultiplay, we designed and secured CPA funding for the construction of a new playground to replace the nearly always flooded area at the Town’s recently renamed John W. Denison Recreation Complex. Located behind the Wilkins School, this new playground features an 8-ft high slide, 3 spinners, a giant climbing tree, picnic area, rain garden, and fully accessible resilient surface. We’re happy to report that water no longer ponds in the area!
When the Lakeview Pavilion in Foxboro burned to the ground, the owners determined to transform the reception site, expanding the function spaces around the remaining gazebo and natural stone walls and patios, and incorporating the adjacent conservation areas.
We’ve had several projects with St. Mark’s School in Southborough, MA over the years, designing and permitting faculty housing, STEM Building exterior, and West Campus improvements, and working with a group of students and faculty to transform the "transportation space" of the Forbes Courtyard into a central spot for lunch and study breaks.
Designed for visitors and staff at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH, the "leftover" space created by a building expansion incorporates three distinct uses: sculpture court, waiting zone, and (just off-camera) a secluded labyrinth.
The Lower School Playground at Shore Country Day School in Beverly, MA integrates "natural play" elements, an embankment slide, and remnants from a beloved prior installation.
As part of the design team for the Town Brook Daylighting project in the City of Quincy, we designed two strolling gardens focused on the open channel, incorporating interpretive signage about the site history and recreated smelt habitat as well as locally sourced reclaimed granite blocks.
It's all about the details, and in Quincy we added this riverstone edge to the walks, allowing stormwater runoff to the rain gardens while preventing erosion AND looking great.
The CAPP Playground at Halloran Park was overdue for a facelift. In December 2014, it reopened as a fully accessible play area for ages 2-12 (and anyone else who loves swings!)
At the Children's Playspace at Holloran Park in Stoughton, the stone performance circle gets used by the librarian's reading program at least once a week.
